ATHLETIC PROGRAM

St. Joseph's Athletic Program has a long and outstanding tradition, and each year our more serious athletes are offered an opportunity to become a part of that continuing tradition.  With so many Catholic grade schools in our conference, our school teams are always exciting and competitive.  Our athletic program includes:

Boys/Girls Basketball (Fall)
Boys/Girls Soccer (Winter)
Girls Volleyball (Winter)
Boys/Girls Softball (Spring)
Boys/Girls Track
Cheerleading

Visit Coach Bell's web page to view schedules for tryouts, practices and games, as well as Coach Bell's post game wrap-ups.

TEAM ELIGIBILITY

Before a student can participate in tryouts, the following must be completed and turned in to the office:

- Student Athletic Participation Application (completed by parent)
- Medical History Sheet (completed by parent)
- Physical Exam by Physician (completed by physician after June 1 of the summer before present school year)

Forms can be downloaded here.

GRADES

It is an honor and also an additional responsibility to be a player on a St. Joseph sports team.  We do not want these additional responsibilities to hinder a student's academic progress.

Grades are closely monitored at mid-quarter and report card time.  If an athlete's conduct or academic grades are not satisfactory, the athlete will be placed on a two-week suspension (2 D's, 1 F and/or a U in conduct or effort).  During suspension the athlete may not participate in scheduled games but continues to practice with the team. The athlete will be required to attend all scheduled games and sit on the bench with the rest of the team dressed in accordance with the non-uniform code.  If grades have not improved after a two-week period, the athlete may be asked to leave the team.  If the student athlete experiences more than one academic probation during a school year, he/she may be ineligible to try out for future teams.  We take academics very seriously at St. Joseph School.  Disciplinary problems can result in team expulsion at any time.

If an athlete receives a detention, he/she will be suspended from the game immediately following the served detention.

TRANSPORTATION

Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from games.  Team members playing in any game which does not start by 3:15 p.m. may remain on campus ONLY under pre-arranged adult supervision.

ATHLETIC FEE

There is a $25.00 athletic fee per sport.
Students will be charged for any lost or damaged uniforms at the end of a season.
