Adopt-a-Book Program
In the best children’s books words and
pictures form a magical union. The words
tell the story. The illustrations widen
a child’s eyes, fuel the imagination and excite the spirit. Artists and authors engage, challenge, and
teach our children through the printed page.
We have been fortunate at St. Joseph to
share that vision and bring quality books to our children. The Scholastic Book Fair and the Barns and
Noble Book Fairs provide funds to support the media center. We are thankful for continuous success at the
book fairs each year.
As well as the book fairs, we have a
program that has provided quality fiction and non-fiction books to our
students. The program is called
Adopt-a-Book. Students and parents can
purchase quality books for our library.
The child’s name or family name will be placed on a special bookplate in
the front of each book donated. In
addition, your child will be the first one to check out the book from the
library. It is a special way of helping
the library and honoring your child. It is fun when the students find the books that
they or their brothers and sisters have donated years before. I would
like to thank all the families who have already adopted books.
The books available for adoption
are on display in the library. Come see me, and I will show you all the
wonderful books we have to adopt.
God bless
you,
Mrs. Sweat
