Lessons learned
this week
This week
the letter of the week was “V” and the theme was “vegetables”. The children learned that vegetables are
healthy for our bodies and make healthy snacks.
Everyone got to cut and sample the different vegetables that the
children brought in. Many were quite
surprised that they liked them when they were dipped in ranch dressing.
They even started their own vegetable
garden and were excited to share that their plants were sprouting already. They were amazed with the different types and
sizes of seeds. They learned what a plant needs to grow and what will happen if
they don’t water their seeds. The
children also learned about volcanoes and the secondary color lesson was
reinforced as they mixed yellow + red to make orange lava.
In addition, they did math activities
which included; patterning vegetables, counting vegetables and sorting
vegetables.
