Week of February 6

Spelling- Unit 22 words ending in ed and ing. Test Friday.

Math- Chapter 9 subtracting 3 digit numbers. We have started the sections on 3 digit subtraction. Many students do not know their subtraction facts. Please spend five minutes a night practicing them.

Religion- Ch 12 Quiz on Friday.

Reading –Theme review. Lesson 20. What’s my Job. The robust vocabulary is on the website.

Book It- Book It for February is to read a biography and complete the book report form. We have some books in the classroom the children may borrow if they need one. These will be due February 28.

Respect Life - Each year we participate in the Respect Life poster contest. Every student must create a poster on the paper provided. (It will count as a Religion grade.) The theme this year for Respect Life is: I came that all might have life and have it to the full! That title should be on the front of the poster and the poster should focus on human life with that theme in mind. You can you crayons, markers, colored pencils, pictures from magazines, as long as you focus on human life and stay with that theme. Title on the front and name on the back of the poster. These will be due February 10.

1. Click on my library

2. Click on the student edition book

3. Click on book 1 or 2(after December)

4. Once in the book start clicking the arrow on the bottom right of the page to scroll through the table of contents. Once you find the page number of the story we are on, type that into the box at the bottom right or just click on the story title, hit return and it will take you to that page.

www.ixl.com. For addition facts, E.1, E.4, E.5 and skip counting A.1, A.2, A.3. Some children are having trouble with these concepts. For subtraction facts, F.1, F.4, F.5

www.spellingcity.com. I have a link on the home page. Just click on that and then click Find a List at the top of the page. When the new page comes up type in my name Laurrie Leonard and it should take you to another page with my name on it. Click on my name and you will have all the lists.
