First Grade News

Dear Parents,

We have had a wonderful week in first grade. The children are trying hard to listen and follow directions. They have been very enthusiastic and cooperative. We are looking forward to a great year.

1R is in need of a few more library volunteers. If you are able to help, please contact Sue Kelley at 268-4726 skelley921@ayhoo.com. Thank you.

Paper Packet Letters – Please remember to cut off the sign and return section at the bottom of the letter. Disregard the sections marked Number of Papers Enclosed and Number of Papers to be Signed and Returned. They are for the older students.

Behavior Chart-- Please initial this chart each day. When the chart comes home in the weekly paper packet, it is yours to keep.

Birthday Parties – The lists of quarterly parties for 1R and 1K are enclosed this week.

Show and Share - Show and Share in 1K is for last names from G to M, and 1R is for last names from H to P. The theme is “My Summer”. Send only one item per child.

Homework - Thank you for your help with homework. Please continue to check your child’s work each night and to sign it and the Behavior Chart.

Pictures- If you have not already done so, please send in a picture of your child for classroom use.

Bedtime – Some of the students are having a hard time adjusting to the early routine. It is extremely important that your child have a consistent early bedtime and a good breakfast. Thank you for your cooperation.

Book in Desk – Please be sure that your child has a book from home.

Shoe Box – Please save a shoe box with a lid for a future class project. Do not send it to school. Thank you! It will be needed in February.
